A werber is a character from the fantasy world of Azalen, created by Leterr.
Description of a Werber
It is a terrifying creature that can influence people’s emotions and mental state. When rested and full of strength, Werbers can kill instantly, in the blink of an eye. The more exhausted they are and the less energy they have, the more they mentally torture their victim, weakening them and thus making them vulnerable to killing and unwilling to fight. Even if they have a lot of energy, if they sense that their opponent will be difficult, they decide to take this step, or in a situation where they know that many opponents await them, they try to conserve their energy in this way. Because the less energy werbers have, the more vulnerable they are to injury. Werebears belong to Tumult, the antagonist of the novel Azalen. They have no empathy whatsoever and easily kill and finish off the weakest.
Appearance of a Werebra
Werebers are creatures that resemble a dog-like beast. They have four legs, short black and gray fur, and long clawed fingers with which they can catch their prey. They have thick, long ears resembling horns. There are no indentations or access to the auricles. On their ears and front paws, they have glowing circles that resemble handcuffs and anti-halos. They have extremely long snouts ending in a black circle. There is no visible nose or nostrils. Instead of teeth, they have glowing semicircles. They have a distinctive black mark on their foreheads. Their eyes are completely black, shaped like elongated teardrops, with a glint of light shining in them.
Wereber attack
When werbers decide to save energy and torment their victims mentally, they create a black cloud around themselves. The mere presence of Werbers causes anxiety and fear, but the black cloud intensifies these feelings. When werbers are very exhausted, they not only produce a black cloud, but also send out a white stream from their circles, which is extremely painful and severe, and sometimes, when used properly, allows the werber to draw energy from its victim.
Consequences of an attack
Sometimes it is possible to survive a werber attack, depending on the circumstances, just as it is possible to survive a car accident or a dog attack. However, if the victim is not so lucky, they end their life and leave the mark of Tumult on them. The symbol of their master’s death.
